Snappy Tappy®

What is Snappy Tappy®?

Snappy Tappy® is a fun and easy way to help your feelings feel better!

Sometimes we’re sad, worried, angry, or just plain meh — and that’s okay. Snappy Tappy® helps you move those tricky feelings through your body by gently tapping on special spots while saying how you feel. It’s like giving your emotions a little high-five!

Here are the 6 tapping spots with their names:

👉 Pinky Point – the side of your hand (like a karate chop!)

🧠 Brain Box – the top of your head

👁 Eye Spy – the side of your eye

💬 Speak It Out – your chin

💗 Deep Breath – your collarbone

🙆‍♀️ Open Up – under your arm (underneath a ducks wing:) )

You tap on each spot with your fingers and talk (or even whisper) about what’s bothering you. By the time you finish, your brain feels calmer, your body feels lighter, and your heart feels braver.

🌈

Snappy Tappy® was made especially for young people — but guess what? Grown-ups love it too!

It’s simple, it’s snappy, and it really works. 💥

Is Snappy Tappy just for children and young people?

Is Snappy Tappy® just for children and young people?

Absolutely not!

Snappy Tappy® is a body-based emotional regulation tool designed for all ages — children, teens, and adults alike. It uses simple language and accessible names for tapping points to make it easier for anyone to connect with their emotions and return to calm — whether you’re 5 or 75. Whether you’re in a classroom, a meeting, your living room, or out in nature… Snappy Tappy® helps you gently shift how you feel, right in the moment.

Snappy Tappy® is gentle and combines rhythmic tapping with mindful attention to feelings. It’s backed by neuroscience using well-established EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) principles but simplified into six easy-to-remember tapping points with playful names. This format makes it especially accessible for children and young people — while remaining highly effective for adults.

Snappy Tappy®

The six Snappy Tappy® points are:

Pinky Point – side of the hand (karate chop point)

Brain Box – top of the head

Eye Spy – side of the eye

Speak It Out – chin

Deep Breath – collarbone

Open Up – under the arm

These points are tapped gently while speaking (or simply noticing) thoughts and emotions. The combination of tapping and verbal acknowledgment supports nervous system regulation, helps process emotional distress, and promotes a sense of calm and clarity — often within just a few minutes.

Why it works:

Snappy Tappy® engages both the body and mind. Tapping sends calming signals to the brain, especially the amygdala, which is responsible for the fight–flight–freeze response. Naming emotions while tapping allows for safe processing of difficult experiences without overwhelm.

Why it helps:

  • Supports emotional self-regulation
  • Reduces stress, anxiety, and overwhelm
  • Encourages emotional literacy and self-expression
  • Builds a sense of agency and internal safety
  • Accessible, playful, and empowering

The fun names help make the practice memorable and inviting — whatever your age — without reducing its effectiveness. Snappy Tappy® can be used on the spot in moments of distress or as part of a regular emotional hygiene routine.

It is suitable for use in therapy, classrooms, homes, or self-care practice, and can be adapted to suit individual needs and age groups.
